The endeavor presents three methods which are distillation, expression, and extraction. The most effective and simple method that could be used by the persons will be distillation.

The homeowners will have to prepare the items that they need for this undertaking. They will most importantly need stills which are the equipments that they should use for the distillation process. They can buy these items from several establishments but since these are expensive, they have to prepare their finances. They can also make their own stills and make sure that the four components are there, like the furnaces, the holding tanks, the condensers, and the separators.

Various plants are producing various amounts of oil depending on their full developments and also their compositions. In this case, he should be gathering his raw material at the correct time. He could be finding the material in his own backyard but he should be carefully plucking it out. He could also be going to the market and buying a plant which is undamaged and healthy.

Once they have their ingredients, they have to dry them up. They can place these items under the shades or inside dark rooms. However, they should not dry them under the direct sunlight so that these things will not lose a lot of oils. After they are dried up, the persons should not allow these things to get wet again.

After these floras have been completely dried, the pots will have to be filled with water by the homeowners. The floras should be completely submerged into the water. Some more water might have to be poured depending on the sizes of the pots and also how many numbers of floras will be put in them. The water might have to be changed for several times.

The lids of the pots should be closed afterwards. Oils will be produced by plants at normal boiling points for water which is 212 degrees Fahrenheit or 100 degrees Celsius. For this matter, several hours might have to be waited for, like six to twelve hours, for the completion of the process. The stills should be looked for, though, to ensure that water will not run out.

Afterwards, the oils will have to be filtered by the individuals from these solutions. Cheesecloth or any other type of fabric will need to be used. The cloths should be clean and dry so that the liquids will not be contaminated by dirt where their potency could be affected.

They will have to use containers so that they can store these liquids. These containers should either be made from glass or stainless steel. They have to clean these bottles thoroughly before they pour the liquids into them. They should store these bottles full of the oils inside cool and dry places. Usually, they can keep these liquids for approximately two years.
