Of greater interest are the insights and not the storyline.

The Alchemist by Coelho Paulo- the reader tours the pyramids of Egypt through eyes of a shepherd. He shepherd is chasing a timeless treasure which will reveal his personal legend. It is laden with the search for personal purpose in life and interactions with omens. It can be used across religious circles.

The Art of Happiness: A handbook for Living- Howard Cutler was inspired by the happiness exhibited by Dalai Lama amidst the political struggle in Tibet. Howard addresses the western audience with Lama as the example. He seeks to show that happiness is possible on daily basis through very simple acts. He emphasizes that happiness is more mental than physical.

The New Earth: Awakening Your Purpose- Tolle Eckhart examines how the ego can stop you from achieving the happiness you long for. According to Tolle, inner and outer conflicts are always as a result of inflated egos. When Oprah Winfrey featured it in her book club, it became an instant hit and has gone on to be phenomenal.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success- Chopra gives a unique perspective to the search for success. He is of the opinion that it emerges out of personal fulfillment and happiness other than material possession. He includes dharma- the purpose of life and Karma- cause and effect as part of these laws. It is excellently packaged for the western audience.

The Road Less Traveled- this book is written by a psychiatrist called Scott Peck and was published in 1978. It makes references to psychiatry and Christian teachings. He highlights how discipline, love and grace are essential in forming a fulfilled person.

Some of the most excellent titles for a spiritually grounded woman are not necessarily authored by female writers. The above titles are presented in a simplistic way with exceptional suggestions and personal exercises. Those who have read them have reported transformational growth at social, spiritual and personal level.
