Janitorial Distributors Are Available For All Of The Right Reasons

It does not matter whether you are starting a cleaning business, either commercial or house, or you may be working in the facility manager office of a medium to large business. Regardless of what type of cleaning you are trying to get going, you need stuff to do your job with. You need chemicals, supplies and equipment. You also need information about what items are the best for each application. These are the reasons you need to do business with janitorial distributors in your area.

Many of these companies are established by the manufacturer of various brands of supplies. They set stores up as an outlet for their products and will often provide shelving for some related items that are not necessarily in direct competition with them. Others will be independent companies that offer shelf space for a large number of brands. Unless you need a specialty item from one manufacturer, the best place to do business is the independent.

The most important elements in any cleaning regimen are the chemicals you use. You will need a couple that will take care of the majority of cleaning you will be doing. Hard surface cleaners, a disinfectant and something for glass and bright work are the basics. There will also be polishes, carpet cleaning solutions and a solvent for grease.

Another piece of information that is available is the Material Safety Data Sheet, or MSDS. This packet of papers must accompany all chemicals you have in use and states first aid measures and lists hazardous ingredients. Most distributors will have all of their MSDS on file and some of the competitors products as well.

Many other items you will need on that cleaning cart will also be displayed for you to compare. These are all of the clothes, sponges, putty knives, as well as buckets, squeegees and mops. There are many other things that are needed for various tasks and the employees of the store can help you see and compare all shapes, sizes and relative qualities.

All of the different floors machines will be there also. You will find vacuum cleaners and compare the upright, canister and back packs types. You can find buffers and scrubbers and understand the differences. The carpet cleaning machines are displayed and all equipment can be checked out, in a back room, before purchasing.

All of the published material, both sales and educational, for all equipment, supplies, chemicals, and hand tools will be available to you. There are also such extra helpful resources as the customers that are always standing around. These clients will be only too happy to share examples of how they have overcome various problems and what items work the best.

It is this combination of sales, advice, experience and the ability to get a cup of coffee, a bottle of water and, usually, a bag of popcorn that makes the trip to this location productive. Finding the right gear, supplies and equipment will always stand you in good stead when looking for everything you need to do your job. Taking any of your employees will help them see things from a different perspective and make for more rounded cleaners.
