By Sally Delacruz

Waste disposal is becoming so much of a problem nowadays. People are given alternatives to proper waste management. Today most are empowered to try composting. The storage of waste is the primary function of a dumpster. They are most often made up of steel for sanitation purposes. Trash is thrown here as temporary container before they are collected by trucks and dumped forever in a landfill. These steel bins are found in every area in and outside the metro. They can be found in every block and near every single building. Public utility establishments such as schools and office buildings have one or more of their own for more efficient waste disposal.

Since most communities do not have enough bins to fulfill the big need for all the home owners, most just take the initiative and rent out their own dumpsters. These dumpsters are mostly for personal need, meaning, only the family will use them and that the neighbors should not share in the waste space lest an argument ensues. Millions of tons of garbage are thrown by human beings every single day. They can be so many that a single container can not really hold everything in. Sometimes, these dumpsters are just filled to the brim days after it was emptied until there is no more room for more trash until the collectors arrive. When this happens, most just rent out their own dumpster and do away with the public ones set up in the area.

If you are set on having your own, there are some important things that you need to think over. Before anything else, you must ponder about the size of the container you may need. These things come in different sizes depending on the amount of trash that you throw daily. You must take this into consideration, especially as most truck collect garbage weekly.

You will also need to note where you are planning to place the container. If you are going to place it within the boundaries of your residence area, then that is not going to pose any problem. Putting them outside your perimeters is another matter altogether. If you are going to place it over a location that is tagged as public property, then you might want to talk to the officials and get a special permit.

Once the location has been chosen, make sure that no one gets in the way to it. Clear out any obstacles that may hinder the garbage disposal vehicle from collecting your waste. If you do not do so, your garbage will not be collected, thus resulting to more worries.
