It took me a long time to realize the significance of the concept of quality over quantity. It could be it is the society we are living in where usually more is better and getting free stuff is an attractive offer. It isn't difficult to get caught up in going for the cheapest thing on the table because it's sometimes the easiest thing to get. Thing is, this absolutely doesn't challenge you. I think of myself as a firm disciple of the indisputable fact that there are things, people and goals that can only be reached when you grow into them. When you are going for the cheap stuff, you aren't really cooked yet. The day you can look yourself in the face and tell yourself that you are not yet built to take on something is a really grounding, fair, and yet above all...inspiring day.

I think most people are disappointed in life not because they aim too high and miss, but because they focus too low and hit.

You have to be ready to make sacrifices for your own larger good.

You've got to be pleased to put your name on the board, write a goal with it, and give it everything you have.

It's amazing the disconnect that happens when people search for happiness. What's interesting however, is when you don't seek it...it actually comes to you. I stopped my search for happiness completely. I actually did not try and be really happy at all. However, I didn't take any part in the typical "just be happy" nonsense either. What I did was work on improving upon myself, doing the things that I knew would make me a better person, and when it was right... I let real happiness find me.

There's so much out there about being happy... but I suspect anything, particularly when it's involved around an emotion, when tried at too hard can essentially end up being a disaster or fully inauthentic. I suspect, in the long run, making incremental changes and improvements to yourself and letting contentment find you because you really are being the best version of yourself will deliver you bigger joy in the long run.

The foundation of your greatest and best self is going to be built upon sacrifice. Are you willing to do the things today that others don't do? Are you pleased to do the things that you know you are really capable of but are really tough? It is hard to look yourself in the face occasionally and say "I'm going to challenge my potential today. "

As he walks out into the tunnel, he starts to feel the ground shaking.

The walls are dripping and there is a soiled musk in the air. His heart pounds.

As he approaches the arena, he can feel the strain grow in his upper shoulders.

He makes an attempt to breathe deep, only to be gripped by the feeling approaching in his stomach.

He walks out into the fierce light, eyes blurred and senses dulled.

There's that deafening sound of the crowd and the pinging in his ears. He feels the crunch of the dirt and sand below his feet.

There's a beed of sweat dripping down his brow waiting to fall, anticipating what's about to come.

The gentle warmth of the sun on his back relaxes his shoulders. His eyes refocus.

Out walks his opponent.

There he stands, that monstrous figure. As dark as a moonless night. Body glistening with scratched up steel. Piercing eyes as sharp as the weapon he holds. A body intended for one thing - Destruction. His bellowing roar echoes across the arena.

As the quiet crowd watches, their hands are cold and impatient with expectation. The noble men look on with curiosity in the security of their pews. Everyone is waiting for the inescapable clash.

As he watches his enemy, his stomach sinks...but for a second. He kneels down, grabs a small handful of the dust beneath him, stained with sweat and blood, and lets it comb through his fingers. He runs his hand carefully along the pointed blade, and grips the soft bending leather. He rises, and faces the figure across from him.

The scarring on his body evoke memories of inaccuracy, and as he stands there, staring into the dark eyes of the opponent across from him, it comes over him. A oceanic feeling runs through his veins and into his fingertips.

He digs his feet into the ground.

He grips the handle and let's out a cry that'll be remembered for ages.

He charges.
